ID KAIST (Department of Industrial Design at KAIST) warmly invites you to the Design 3.0 Forum, which will take place on November 1, 2024, in Daejeon, South Korea.
The 2024 Design 3.0 Forum will explore the future directions of design research and education in an era shaped by the transformative influence of AI. The forum will feature a design talk concert format, bringing together 18 young design professors representing the new generation of design education and research. We are honored to have Professor Peter Lloyd, the President of IASDR(International Association of Societies of Design Research) and a Professor at Delft University of Technology, as our keynote speaker. He will delve into "Designing Intelligence," one of the most critical topics shaping the future of design education and research. Following the forum, from 18:00 to 19:30, participants will have the opportunity to experience part of a special exhibition hosted by the Department of Industrial Design at KAIST, commemorating the Paris Olympics, along with other recent design research outcomes.
The reception will also serve as a pre-event for the Fall International Design Research Conference organized by the Korean Society of Design Science (KSDS), which will be held on November 2.
We look forward to your participation in this free forum and hope you will join us in this unique opportunity to shape the future of design research and education.

Much of how we construct meaning in the world is qualitative rather than quantitative. We think and act in
response to the qualities of phenomena, senses, thoughts, and expressions, and the relationships between
them. What role do the senses play in design research, and how can they be used as mediums for
exploration?
This talk explores the opportunities, highlighting how these elements can serve as mediums for creative
research and practice.
